Preparing the Wall

• Make sure the wall is clean, smooth, grease-free and of an even colour.
• Remove any old wallpaper.
• Fill in gaps.
• Sand smooth any unevenness.

Applying Primer

• If you have a new house or the wall has just been plastered, first apply a primer coat.

Safety measures

• If necessary, remove the covers from sockets and switches.
• Turn off the electricity.

Materials for Non-woven Wallpaper

• Non-woven wallpaper.
• Wallpaper paste suitable for non-woven wallpaper, paste only needs to be applied to the wall.
• Wallpaper spatula or brush.
• Sharp Stanley knife.
• Tape measure.
• Possibly a spirit level.

Preparing Wallpaper

• Make sure the room temperature is between 18-20 degrees Celsius during wallpapering to prevent shrinkage and open seams.

Wallpaper Tip for Dark and Light Walls

• If you have dark wallpaper and a light wall, paint the wall in a matching color first. This will make the seams less noticeable.
• A light wall is ideal for light wallpaper.
